Scan

The Scan is a light and motion detector used in the Plugwise network. This module switches lighting and appliances on and off when required. The Scan passes on this information to the software and informs you of the occupancy of a building. This Scan distinguishes itself through the unmatched service life of the battery, the settings of the sensors (such as sensitivity, daylight switch, duration, etc.) and the option to change these settings in the software remotely.

At the end of 2011, the Scan will be expanded to include the registration function, with which data can be measured. This update will be implemented seamlessly and without further installations.

Insight into building use

The combination of the Scan and a Plugwise network is the most effective and simplest way to gain insight into the capacity utilisation of buildings. Because the Scan registers the presence of people and visually displays this information in Plugwise Source, you are effortlessly given an overview of how much individual parts of your building are used.

The next step in energy conservation

What parts of the building are used efficiently? Floorplan Control enables you to see at a glance the capacity utilisation of the rooms in your building.

The Scan offers the best way to conserve energy, because it is sensitive to light and motion. If someone starts to use a room where the light intensity is inadequate, the Scan switches on the lighting. Once everyone has left the room, the Scan switches the lighting off again. This offers you the ideal way to operate the lighting connected with a Circle, Stealth or Stealth W.

Easy to use, quick to install

The Scan is battery-powered and can be installed very quickly: like the other components of the Plugwise platform, the Scan works wirelessly. Via the software, you can specify where the Scan is located and what devices and light points must be switched on when a room is in use. As a result, not only is installation very simple, but adjustments can also be made quickly.

The Scan can be used in combination with the Switch and with switching programmes set up in Plugwise Source.

In Source, it can be specified what equipment and/or lighting can be switched using the Scan and how quickly the Scan switches under changing lighting conditions.

The Scan communicates directly with the closest modules in the Plugwise network but, in contrast to a Circle or Stealth, does not route the signals. This makes the Scan extremely energy-efficient. The Scan is battery-powered and is easy to install using your choice of a mounting plate (removable/permanent) or double-sided adhesive tape.
