Sting

Measure the energy consumption of connected appliances and switch them on or off with the Sting, a device that you simply put between a socket and the appliance plug. The Sting stores power consumption data and transmits them to the Plugwise Source software installed on your computer, using a wireless ZigBee-mesh network. The software shows the data in clear overviews and well-organised charts.

Stings automatically form a wireless mesh network and set up communication with your computer through the Stick. In fact, the Sting works with all other Plugwise platform products, for example the wireless wall-mounted Switch, the climate sensor Sense and motion detector Scan. The Plugwise network forms the basis for all building efficiency and energy management solutions.

Appliances that are connected to a Sting, can immediately be switched on or off wirelessly from your computer. In addition, the Sting can switch appliances according to switching schemes that you implement with the Source software. The Sting is also equipped with a standby killer: when a connected appliance switches to standby mode, the Sting can entirely interrupt power to prevent unwanted energy usage. You can temporarily disconnect the Sting from the socket and plug it back in to restart a switched-off appliance.

The Sting is available in a wide range of plug types.
