Plugwise connection table

Connect Anna and Adam correctly to your boiler, heat pump and district heating.

Brands

Is your heat source not listed here?
Please contact us and we will find out how it can be connected.

This connection information has been compiled with care.
Our goal is that all information is correct and complete.
But of course there can always be an error somewhere.
We are not liable for any consequences of that error.

Control

OpenTherm

OpenTherm an control is suitable for central heating boilers and heat pumps with an OpenTherm thermostat connection.
The wires are polarity independent, so it does not matter which wire you connect left or right.

Via OpenTherm, your heat source is modulatively controlled.
This means that if little heating is required, a lower supply temperature can be requested.
This makes this the most economical way of heating.

On/Off

On/Off control is suitable for central heating boilers, heat pumps and district heating with a 24V potential-free thermostat connection.
The wires are polarity independent, so it does not matter which wire you connect left or right.
Via on/off switches your heat source on or off.

On your heat source, you can often set the boiler temperature used.
You can set this lower to heat more economically.
With the Adam HA you have to enter this temperature in the settings of Adam HA.
This way Adam HA knows what temperature to use.

Readjustment / Post regulation

For example with district heating, heat pumps and cascade control.

In some situations with district heating and heat pumps, hot water always flows around as soon as you turn on the radiator.
With boilers and heat pumps, this is sometimes called weather-dependent control.
There is then also no thermostat present.
Use Adam HA with a zone control that controls the radiators and floor heating.
Adam HA is not connected to the heat source.
Then in Adam HA, in the advanced heating settings, turn on the Uncontrolled Heat Source feature.
Also enter what the supply temperature is that Adam HA should calculate with.
Then Adam HA will open the radiators and floor heating if that zone is to be heated.

If Adam HA is used as post-regulation then it is necessary that hot water always flows around.
Therefore, this situation is not mentioned separately below.

Anna is not suitable for use as a post-control.
In that case, use Anna in combination with Adam HA and a zone control.

(1) Note: 230V on/off contact on the Daikin indoor unit.
Use the Anna 230V for this.
With Adam HA, use the Relay Box 5V if you only want to heat.
If you want to heat and cool you need the Relay Box Heating and Cooling Heat Pump and the Cooling feature.
(2) Various settings need to be adjusted in the user interface so that the installation knows that it is controlled externally, such as unit control method.
Please refer to the Daikin indoor unit installation manual.
(3) Make use of the Relay Box Heating and Cooling Heat Pump together with the Adam HA and the Cooling feature . You can’t cool with Anna.
(4) Heating and cooling control can also be controlled by a cooling contact.
You then need the Relay Box 5V and Relay Box 230V.
However, the recommended way is via the Relay Box Heating and Cooling Heat Pump.
