Koen controls the adjustment motors on your floor heating manifold. Thus he determines which heating loops open or close. This gives each room exactly the heat it needs.
Controls the loops of your underfloor heating.
An underfloor heating system consists of several heating loops.
Each loop heats a section of the floor. There are adjustment motors on the floor heating distributor that open or close these loops. Koen controls these adjustment motors. This allows heat to be precisely directed to the right space.
This is how it works within the Plugwise system
Koen works with other Plugwise products.
- An Emma Wired thermostat, an Emma Wireless or Lisa wireless thermostat, or a Jip sensor measures the temperature in a room.
- The Adam hub determines how much heat is needed.
- Adam then controls the appropriate Koen to open or close a room's floor heating loops.
- The Adam hub activates the heat source.
This way, the heat automatically gets to the right place.
Which Koen do you need?
Koen is available in variants with 1 to 8 motors.
- Each Koen switches all motors simultaneously - that's why you need one Koen for each room. So for multiple rooms (for example, a living room with 4 loops and a hall with 2 loops), you need one Koen-4 and one Koen-2, or one per room.
- Elk Koen needs needs one outlet per room. This means that for each room (for example, the living room and the entryway), you need one Koen and one outlet per room.
- For more than 8 loops in one space, use multiple Koens. For example, for 10 loops in one space you need 2 Koens (Koen-5 + Koen-5).
