The supplier of the hardware and software for the Spider platform, Spider Connect, has stopped supplying it. This affects Itho Daalderop customers with a Spider Connect system. These customers have been approached for a compensation choice with Plugwise products. The compensation package can consist of one or more components, depending on the current Spider configuration. Plugwise compensation package.
The compensation package offered by Itho Daalderop to their customers can consist of one or more components, depending on the current Spider configuration. The compensation package can include one or more of the following components: the gateway Adam HA, the Smile P1 smart meter reader and the Aqara Plug. And in most cases, the Itho Daalderop Spider thermostat can even continue to be used in combination with the Adam HA.
Adam HA
The connected gateway with smart heating control.
The Adam HA is a gateway connected to the Internet and your heating system. You connect the Adam HA wired between the Spider thermostat and the boiler. With that, the Adam HA is now in control of the heating demand. This gives you all the benefits of heating control with a smart learning algorithm, multi-zone heating, preheating with schedules, weather compensation and more.
Smile P1
Your energy consumption. In real time.
With the Smile P1, you don't have to wait for monthly reports to understand your energy consumption. You can see live how much electricity you are currently net consuming or generating, and even discover how much gas you are consuming. This allows you to be more conscious of your energy use and, if necessary, make adjustments for a more efficient lifestyle. The Smile P1 simply connects you wired to your smart meter.

The Smile P1 offers more than just live data. From the moment of installation, historical graphs are stored. With historical graphs, you can go back in time and discover how your consumption has changed over days, weeks and even months. These in-depth insights can help you recognize patterns and develop strategies to reduce your energy costs.

You can save energy by turning off devices, and the Aqara Plug makes this easy to do. The app lets you turn off any device connected to the Plug when you're not using it, even when you're not home. This not only helps reduce energy waste, but it also offers peace of mind knowing that you can manage your home more easily.
Lisa
Wireless thermostat for any room.
Lisa gives you the freedom to place your thermostat wherever you want, without worrying about laying wires. This allows you to strategically place the thermostat for the most accurate temperature control in your home, regardless of layout.
If your existing situation uses wireless communication with the Spider thermostat, the Lisa will be offered as a replacement for this.

No hassle with thermostat knobs or confusing settings-you're in control. Your home adapts to you, not the other way around.
A new beginning with Plugwise.
The future is there to be embraced, and sometimes that brings change. In moving from the Spider platform to Plugwise, there are some features you may have appreciated that will now take on a different face. But don't worry, because with this change comes new opportunities and possibilities that will take your comfort and convenience to other heights.
Switch with a Plug.
One of the noticeable changes is that measuring electricity with a plug will no longer be available. Where it was previously possible, Plugwise has been optimized for ultimate ease of switching. Although metering is lost, your system becomes even more intuitive and efficient thanks to Plugwise's new approach. Thus, the Plugwise plug can switch based on heating demand, for example, for the pump of the floor heating, or as a cooling contact in case of a heat pump. Furthermore, of course, a weekly schedule can be used to switch your lights, for example.
Control ventilation through the Spider.
Another notable change is controlling ventilation through the app. With the Spider platform, you could control your ventilation system through the app, but with the switch to Plugwise, this feature is no longer available. Instead, the focus is on the Spider thermostat as the hub of your heating and ventilation. You do need to reset the Spider thermostat to do this and log directly into the ventilation unit. See page 33 of the Spider thermostat manual for all the steps.

Frequently asked questions
Can I continue to use the wired Spider thermostat?
Yes, you can continue to use the wired Spider thermostat if you connect it wired to the Adam HA gateway.
Please note the following minor limitation. If a Spider thermostat is connected to a Plugwise Adam, there may be a discrepancy between the setpoint shown on the thermostat and the setpoint shown in the Plugwise app. The setpoint shown in the Plugwise app is the setpoint used by the Adam to control your unit and, by definition, is always correct. But note the following:
- If the setpoint is adjusted on the thermostat itself (with the plus and minus buttons) then the Adam will adopt this and it will also be displayed in Plugwise app.
- If in the Plugwise app the setpoint is adjusted or if the clock program in the Adam is active, then the setpoint shown on the thermostat will be different.
This is not a bug or error but this is a technical inconvenience that cannot be fixed in the Spider thermostat. The system as a whole will function fine just the display on the thermostat is not correct. Therefore, always use the Plugwise app to see the active setpoint.
Can I continue to use the wireless Spider thermostats?
The wireless Spider thermostats can no longer be used. If your existing situation uses wireless communication with the Spider thermostat, the Lisa will be offered as a replacement for this.
Can I install the Plugwise products myself?
Yes, the Plugwise products are easy to install yourself. Each product has its own manual and possibly a YouTube installation video.
Can I have an installer install the Plugwise products?
Yes, installers can easily install the Plugwise products. To do this, contact your own installer or an installer who recommends Plugwise. Check our Installers page for installers who have experience with Plugwise. Installers who do not yet have experience with Plugwise can call our special installer phone line for free.
